In the summer of ninty-seven, I was suffering heavily from depression. I listened to Jewel all summer. There was a time with every song that I listened to it on repeat. I littlerally had 'Near You Always' on repeat for almost a month. All day, all night. It was comfort. I didn't want to move, but it was my comfort. Everything she spoke, I loved.


Being from a southern baptist community, I was an odd ball for having my own opinions on God. 'Amen'. That song just got to me. I loved it. I still do.
